One of my best holiday experiences was when we rented a family vacation house for ten days.
The house was next to the lake and the mountains were a ten-minute drive away.
The party included my parents, my two siblings and their families. We hiked, we fished, went boat riding, we had bonfires and we even rode horses. Everyone had something to look forward to. Everything about the house was as advertised apart from one thing. The house was advertised as having a new HVAC system. We later found out the central heating of the house was not new as they made us believe. During our stay the boiler broke down. We had to call the local heating provider to get a boiler repair and to replace the furnace filter. It was such an inconvenience but luckily it did not take long. Out of curiosity I asked the professional from the home comfort business how old he thought the heating system was and he gave it roughly seven years. In place of a dial thermostat like the one we had at home they had a digital one which was such a nice touch. I did not understand why they had to lie about something that most people would not care about as long as it was functioning. The heating technician showed us a new heater for sale and the latest furnace filter for sale in case we would be interested since their heating corp had several branches, one being in our area. Other than that mishap the rest of our stay in the holiday home was amazing, we even got to enjoy some quiet time by the fireplace. We even got a bonus of learning more about heating from the tech.
