It was finals week and we were all running around trying to summarize our notes and studying.
I would go over to my friend’s house to study with her and sometimes she would be at mine. We had stopped going to my house to study because our electric furnace would work sometimes and other times it would not even come on. My room would get very cold because our heating equipment provided low-quality heating. Mum had been following up with the heating technicians to have the unit repaired but they had not yet booked an appointment. On the day that the heating contractors came to my house to fix the dual fuel system, I had planned to go to my friend’s house as we had a science experiment to run over before the next day’s paper. The project was very sensitive to temperatures so we had decided to experiment at my friend’s house. Just when we were about to start with the experiment, the ductless heat pump at the house completely shut down. We decided to wait it out as her dad attempted to run a swift furnace/heater tune-up. My friend’s dad had owned a homeowner solution and was still in communication with some of the HVAC professionals in town. When we left the room to check on things, the dad was on a call with the experts trying to fix the ductless HVAC. He was advised that he needed to get some components from the HVAC supplier to run a quality and comprehensive heat pump service. Going down to the heating business would take a while and our experiment would be ruined by then. We finally decided to go to my house after confirming with mum that the system was functioning.
