Trying to come home more often

Recently, I lost someone close to me while I was living abroad.

It really puts things into perspective for me.

When I leave my country for years at a time, I am sacrificing quality time with my loved ones. As a result, I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to someone I really cared about. At that point, I decided I needed to figure something else out. However, I also did not want to abandon my other life. I’ve been in the states for about two months now. In another month, I’ll be headed on a plane back overseas. I intend to split my time moving forward. I will spend a few months in the US, and then I will fly back home and spend a few months overseas. I want to make this work, but I know it’s going to be expensive. Luckily, as a heating and cooling technician, I’ve been able to secure jobs in both locations. I have connections in the HVAC industry that are willing to provide work for me while I am in town. I have been a certified HVAC technician since I graduated high school, and not to date myself, but that’s a long time! Not to mention, I was raised with a basic understanding of heating and cooling. My parents owned an HVAC company, so I grew up around the stuff. The Heating and cooling company I work for overseas is willing to work with me on my new schedule because they know I do good work. When I am home, I will just work for my parents.
