The neighborhood had a fun day every year where we would indulge in all sorts of games for children and adults.
During the annual event, all of us could freely participate in the activities.
It was also while we were in this funfair that the community took the option to raise funds for a noble cause. This year it was to improve the central gas furnace of the area children’s home. The local HVAC business had volunteered to offer a free upgrade when the new electric heat pump machine was ready. The whole neighborhood depended on the whole-home heating corporation for all their installations and every heating system repair. The money that we raised was more than enough for the electric heating system. The remainder was enough to buy the children Christmas gifts and books. The heating contractor was truly efficient when it came to installing the zone control upgrade in an official manner so that all the energy-saving tricks that they’d put in place would succeed. Temperature control with the new uni would be individually regulated through a smart thermostat. The HVAC professional had everything in place including a future heating system/heater tune-up plan. The lounge area was fitted with radiant floor heating. It was such events that brought us in the neighborhood together and strengthened the feeling of community amongst us. It was also during such events that the old would interact with the young again and the young could interact freely with each other. Most of us knew each other because we’d been born there and grew up together. Some of us had lived all our lives in the neighborhood and we wished to raise our youngsters in the same place so that they’d legitimately enjoy and grasp the true meaning of community living.
