Who Wants to be a Do It Yourself Heating and A/C Tech?

Most DIYers will fail at this level not because they lack the tools including tin snips, crimpers, hand seamers, and folding bars, and instead, they can simply begin to see that the job of building and repairing Heating and A/C air ductwork is simply beyond their skill level

The game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” started captivating viewers in 1998, there should be a similar game for those who want to become a Do-it-Yourself (DIY) Heating and A/C Tech. There is no massive million-dollar prize, but it may prove to be a fantastic way to see who is capable of such a task, however my “Who Wants to Be a Do It Yourself Heating and A/C Tech?” game would start off with a series of questions about everyday tools needed for the upgrade, repair, and maintenance of any home’s Heating and A/C system. Most people would pass this level because they likely have their own hammers, screwdrivers, tape measures, pipe wrenches, and a few power tools such as a battery-powered drill, a few “contestants” may be stumped because they lack the electrical circuit testers or a “Sawzall” saw that all professional Heating and A/C workers own. The next level of the game show will prove more hard in that the questions will be about specialized tools needed for Heating and A/C jobs which involve sheet metal. Most DIYers will fail at this level not because they lack the tools including tin snips, crimpers, hand seamers, and folding bars, and instead, they can simply begin to see that the job of building and repairing Heating and A/C air ductwork is simply beyond their skill level. The few remaining contestants who reach level three would then be faced with questions about specialized equipment needed for Heating and A/C work; As an example: Do they have a vacuum pump or a set of refrigerant gauges? My million-dollar question is to ask them if they own a refrigerant scale. “Who Wants to Be a Do It Yourself Heating and A/C Tech?” offers only one lifeline and that is to call a qualified Heating and A/C worker who owns all of the necessary tools and has the expertise to do the job right the first time.
