I was worried when my two-year-old air conditioner needed immediate repairs

It’s hectic when anything needs to be repaired, let alone something that you bought new only 24 months prior.

I have run into this issue with new computers on two separate occasions.

The first time it happened I bought a computer that wouldn’t even turn on when I pulled it out of the box. The second time the computer worked great for a week before it started to go to the blue startup screen every few minutes I’d have it turned on. Lest it be said, both computers immediately went back to the store where I bought them. At least you can count on good customer service when you make large purchases like this through a reputable computer and electronics dealer. I would have never guessed that I would run into a similar issue with my central heating and cooling system like what I had with those two computers. Most people expect to get 15 or more years out of their brand new air conditioner. If you’re unlucky enough to get a poorly built machine, you might cut that number in half to be more realistic. But a full system breakdown after only two years of use? The air conditioner couldn’t drop the temperature any lower than 80 degrees, regardless of whether or not it’s in the middle of the night or during full sunlight in the afternoon. Two years in with performance issues this bad is just unbelievable. Thankfully, the system was under warranty with my HVAC supplier and I never had to pay for repairs. But now I’m worried about it randomly breaking down on me at the worst possible moment. You get what you pay for when it comes to large appliances.
