Well, when we got married I found that I needed to compromise because my wifey wasn’t too crazy about the fans, even though she undoubtedly wasn’t crazy about keeping the temperature in the ’60s in our bedroom.
Before my wife married me, she lived in a honestly tropical temperature. She is the kind of woman that thinks that when the temperature is in the low 70s it is cold. While I grew up in a subtropical temperature and I entirely cherish basking in the sunshine and that comforting feeling of humidity every now and then (yes I said comforting, kind of like a warm wet blanket) but that is not exactly how I feel when it is time to go to sleep. Instead, I need my bedroom to be at least 67° or even lower. The cool, crisp air has always helped me get a much better night’s rest than when it’s hotter. I shall even have fans in the room in the winter season to circulate the air and provide me with a source of white noise to lull me to sleep. I pleaded with her to wear extra layers, and periodically this entirely works and she lets me keep the control unit at 66° at the least. Other times, she just cannot get comfortable because she is too freezing and she ends up going to adjust the control unit while I am sleeping. Sporadically, I sleep through the night separate from noticing, but most of the time I wake up in the early hours of the day. My first thought is that someone undoubtedly adjusted the temperature on the control unit! Marriage is about compromise though so we will figure it out!
