Living down south has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl and we vacationed there.
- Just everything about it seemed to be just so great.
I loved the food, the culture and especially the weather. The sun seemed to shine all the time. And, I just wasn’t very fond of living in a place where the HVAC furnace was running for much of the year. The south seemed to me to be the place where I could live out my dreams. But reality hit and it took me 60 years to realize my dream of living in the south. Having spent my whole adult life dealing with snow and ice for month after month and winter after winter, getting somewhere warm with good HVAC is what it has all been about. Now that my husband and I have retired, we decided that moving south would be the perfect way to start the next chapter in our lives. The first thing I did as we were packing up our home was to give away almost every single stitch of winter clothes. It is not something that I will miss. The house we’re going to has a sunroom that is HVAC maintained by a ductless heating and cooling unit. This way I can soak up all that sun even in the summertime. Having the sunroom independently HVAC controlled will also allow us to keep the house at a constant temperature. I’m so excited to be able to finally settle down in a place where the winter just can’t push me around any longer.
