I actually was curious to find out about the current house my kid built.
He lives in a region where they sort of get more Winter than I do but the summer time isn’t quite as grinding and overwhelming as it is here.
Where I live and where my kid grew up comes with lots of heat and humidity. That’s just part of the package around here. So of course, I have good residential Heating, Ventilation, and A/C and my heat pump is a reliable and valued essential in my home. My kid just built a house and chose a heat pump as well. But this is no ordinary heat pump. He chose to install a geothermal heat pump in his current house. The geothermal heat pump is a really interesting piece of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment. This heating and cooling system really uses the near constant temperature of the earth to extract heating and cooling energy. This results in about the most efficient source of heating and cooling one can buy. The initial money outlay for this sort of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C component is a bit more pricey. But the savings over the lifetime of the geo heat pump is incredible. What I was curious about was whether or not the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C heating would be satisfactory where he lived. Man, was it ever. His house is heated with radiant floor heating. It’s just awesome and reminds of the mornings when boilers were used for radiant heating. The radiant floor heating was so cozy and hot when I visited last Christmas that I ran around barefoot almost the entire time.
