My girlfriend and I went out to the desert a couple of weeks ago.
While we were driving around the area, the AC stopped working in the car.
I wasn’t terribly upset about the AC, until the car stopped running as well. I knew the problem wasn’t the AC when the car was stuck on the side of the road. I had to call a tow truck driver and pay $125 to get someone to haul the car back to my house. I called a friend of mine that works as a mechanic. He came over last weekend to give me an estimate on the car. He told me to start looking for a new car. It’s going to cost about $3,000 to repair the car and the vehicle is only worth $2200. My buddy told me to save the money and use it as a down payment on a new car. I really don’t have a lot of money and now I have to take an Uber to work everyday. The expense is severe and I spend about $15 dollars with tip each way. It’s almost impossible for me to buy a new car when I have to spend that money to arrange transportation to work. Thankfully, my boss offered me some overtime jobs to help pay for the new car. I told the guy about my old car and the AC and engine problem. He offered to give me some extra shifts on the weekend if I wanted to work Saturday and Sunday. I was happy for the chance to make more money. In a month or two, I’ll have enough money to buy something new.
