My mom and dad were in their eighties and I was noticing how hard it was getting for them to take care of their home.
Mom had been telling myself and others that dad could no longer split wood.
I didn’t expect to see him barely able to walk, when I went to visit. I told them that it was time for them to give up the lake house and transport in with us. My dad was adamant about never moving in with one of his adolescents. He said he would rather die alone before he would do that. When I got home, I was talking to my partner. I told her what was going on and she told myself and others the lake house next door was for sale. It was a small more than one living room bungalow, that was all on one floor. There were more than one powder rooms and a current Heating, Ventilation and A/C system. The entire inside of the lake house had recently been replaced. All of us went to the lake house and did some investigating. It was perfect for mom and dad. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C system was current and they had installed an air purification system along with a dehumidifier. There was even a current walk-in tub that mom had been telling myself and others about. My partner and I put a estimate in on the house. When every one of us were told every one of us had the house, I called my dad. I told him about the lake house and asked if he was interested. He asked about the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system and the powder room. I knew he was interested when I told him about the air purification system and walk-in tub. Two weeks later every one of us put their lake house up for sale.
