The heating method works down to less than 5 degrees fahrenheit & usually it doesn’t drop into the colder temperatures where the new home is located.
When I purchased a new home recently, I guess I was mostly distraught about the structure of the home. I didn’t care if the old Heating, Ventilation & A/C method wasn’t exactly up to par because I was planning on finally having it replaced anyway. There was just an seasoned oil heating system & I was pretty damn sure it was empty or broken because it wouldn’t turn on, but of course there was a huge fireplace that worked well at keeping the whole new home warm. There also was a large wood burning stove. This locale didn’t have any electricity, although I had an electrician come into the home to take care of that problem. He had the hookups ready for electricity & then I had the high tech solar panels installed & had everything hooked up. I mean honestly, the intelligent people I was with and I are way out of range to get repair from an electric supplier at this cabin, however the solar panels task great. They are even enough to power a very small ductless mini split. I just went for a single zone ductless mini split heat pump & it actually works remarkably well. I love that there is a stream nearby that is simply loaded with fish. It’s the perfect locale to love getaway with the family, including how we caught many fish & cooked them over the fireplace. Both of us also made s’mores in the fireplace. There’s only a few more things I want to do to renovate the locale & then I know it will be perfect.
