Kindly HVAC technician come out in winter storm

I never thought that I would have to take advantage of the fact that my favorite HVAC company offers 24/7 emergency services.

However, perhaps I should have seen it coming.

It gets pretty cold around here in the winter, and during some winters, but not all winters, having your furnace running can be a matter of life and death. I honestly worry more about my parents with their more primitive heating system that they have in their home when it’s really cold in the winter. I never really worried about my furnace, because I consider it to be top of the line and in good shape. However, last winter, I can remember a blizzard that just sort of sprung up in my town with little warning from the weather authorities. It was a bit of a freak storm and it saw temperatures drop below zero! Again, this happens now and again, but it’s not super common. I thought I would be able to rely on my furnace. Unfortunately, during the first night of the storm, I turned out to be wrong. My furnace gave out on me because of what I later learned was a minor electrical issue. I’m glad it happened earlier in the night rather than later, because I suddenly remembered that my HVAC service had 24/7 emergency visits. I hated to call out an HVAC technician in the blizzard, but I also knew that I needed to protect my family from freezing that night, so I called them. They sent a van out pronto and the HVAC technician was all geared up for severe winter weather. Both he and I were glad that the problem was minor and he was able to fix it quickly. I just had to slip a little extra cash in his jacket because I was so relieved that he was able to help me and my family.
