I just messaged a hotel and told them my buddy and I could play at their venue if they need a band. I wish my bandmate was more proactive in getting us gigs however she is too depressed most of the time to function. She is the main cliche forever depressed artist, except when she is playing her guitar and singing with me… I’ve tried to help him however she is so stuck in her own head that it doesn’t do much to try. She consistently rejects ideas I try to provide for him to be happier and I’m fatigued of trying. The main local business where she worked briefly had to let him go because her heating and air conditioning tech work was too sporadic. So now she is finally back to being fully depressed again and it is kind of getting old. I’m trying to do the same with my bandmate however she just wants to be agitated, so I’ll let him figure it out from now on and focus on what I have to do in my life. The local business near me offers counseling for people like him, but if she doesn’t want to help himself then my buddy and I doubt the current contractor can help him either, then some people are just destined to be unhappy their whole life and there is not much you can do to help them out of it.
