In the town where I grew up, the temperature of the environment kept on changing from time to time.
In those days, many of the families had no HVAC system for cooling or heating.
Fortunately for us, we had a reliable HVAC system since my father was an HVAC technician. During the winters, our heater would provide us warmth, and during the scorching summer, our air conditioner would keep us cool. It was very breathtaking to us. I remember one day, my father told us that back in the days, there was no air conditioning. He told us that humidity was the one that made summer very miserable.They got used to it, but they were always looking forward to fall and winter. The house he grew up in had shady trees around it, and it was a two-story home where most heat went upstairs. They kept all the windows open in the warm weather. The house he was living in sat on a hill where there was almost always a breeze. He told us that there was a river a half a mile away from where he and his friends would spend a lot of time dipping their bare feet during the summer, which was a relief to them. They spent a lot of time outdoors instead of the hot home, especially in the evening. They used to watch the stars at night and sometimes stay around the furnace having fascinating conversations. I don’t know if I could have survived during those days. I thank the person who invented the air conditioning system.
