It’s pretty crazy how I got into such a wonderful career in the HVAC industry. I actually was a lazy high school kid and my parents always had to get on my case about just doing my homework. Then I had to do community service for school and I had no idea what I would do. That’s when my father said that I could do work with one of the local HVAC companies. I thought it sounded ridiculous because I didn’t know anything about heating and cooling stuff, but he took me anyway. He told them that I was eager to do my community service there, and they took me right on. I thought it was going to be lame, but it was actually quite the experience. These guys were very knowledgeable and they treated me like family. They showed me how to work on various HVAC systems and how to do proper maintenance work like changing the air filters. I learned about how quality air filters are important and can save you energy by allowing the HVAC system to work without stress. By the time I was finished with my community service, I was sad that it was all over. One of the HVAC technicians said if I ever went to get my HVAC certification, they would higher me on the spot. When I graduated from high school, I decided to go for it. I was so happy when I earned my HVAC certification. It wasn’t easy, but I knew that I was going to be able to work with my old buddies at the HVAC company!
