He always seems to get sick and turn off the A/C when the rest of us want to have it running because it’s so hot outside
I love my dad, but when he gets sick, he is just a big old baby. This is especially true in the summertime when he gets one of those terrible summer colds. Having a cold in the summer is always the worst, in my opinion. I hate the way that the warm air outside seems to make you feel even more feverish and yucky than you already did in the first place. Anyway, my dad just about always gets a cold in the summer. I don’t know if it’s some sort of pollen that starts him out with a sinus infection or something, but at least once during the summer he ends up being miserable with a terrible cold. The bad thing about this, other than him being sick, of course, is that my dad hates running the air conditioning when he’s sick. This drives my mom and the rest of my siblings crazy. My dad complains constantly about how the central air conditioning blowing through the A/C vents makes him feel cold and even worse than he already did. He walks around the house with a blanket over his head, whining and trying to stay far away from the A/C vents. He is notorious for turning the central air conditioning all the way off whenever he is sick or feeling bad. It makes us all crazy, because it’s always during the hottest part of the summer, it seems like. He always seems to get sick and turn off the A/C when the rest of us want to have it running because it’s so hot outside. I can’t stand being without the A/C at any point during the summer, but if he has a cold, my dad turns it right back off every chance that he gets.
