My mom has been working on an addition on her house.
Well, I guess I should say that she has been having a construction crew for the past six months or so.
She is just so tired of the whole thing that she can hardly stand it. She is so ready for the construction to be over so that she can enjoy the new addition to her house. It seems like it has been one thing after another to cause delays with the whole project. For some reason, the general contractor forgot all about the fact that they needed to add ductwork into the addition when they were building it. I guess my mom should have hired a competent HVAC contractor for that part of the job, because her general contractor obviously did not have a clue what he was doing. He said that he just was not thinking about the HVAC system whenever he was working on the building plans. I don’t know if that was supposed to make us feel better or what, but it certainly didn’t. It just made me wonder what else he was leaving out that he should have been on top of. I just don’t think that this guy really knew what he was doing. My mom hired him without talking to me or my brother about it first, and she probably shouldn’t have done that. I think that every general contractor should know that the heating and cooling system is an important part of any job! Of course she had to have HVAC in the addition.
