My roommate & I argue a lot

My roommate & I argue a lot, & I suppose that it is a shame, but i wish that I could tell you that all of our confrontations were for a great reason, but honestly, most of our confrontations have to deal with the temperature control & the Heating & Air Conditioning units. I wish that we didn’t have to argue about the temperature controls. I am sure that I could quit arguing about the temperature controls, but if I were to drop the issue with the temperature controls, I suppose that I would never be comfortable in our house again. In our opinion, the perfect temperature for a house to be at is 70 degrees, however this falls well within the range for a normal temperature control setting, & although everyone might prefer the temperature to be a single or 2 degrees cooler, this is where I am at. If our roommate was willing to lower the temperature only a single or 2 degrees, I would be more than willing to compromise on the temperature control to end the arguing, but however, if you were to ask our roommate what his perfect temperature for the temperature control is, he would tell you that he prefers the temperature to be at 60 degrees. In our opinion, this is freezing cold. It is okay if the temperature outside is 60, but 60 degrees feels freezing inside your house with the Heating & Air Conditioning units running. I have tried compromising, but our roommate refuses to compromise, & he refuses to let myself and others change it even though we both have a right. He feels that if the temperature control is set any higher, then I should have to spend our savings more for electricity since he doesn’t want it to be warmer! All of us argue all of the time, & I am not sure what to do, however should I transport out & find a more adequate roommate with similar Heating & Air Conditioning preferences?
