My husband plus I recently moved to a new house. Our old place had a great wooden fence, but the new house has a chain linked fence. So before every one of us moved, I was concerned about the fence. I was afraid that our two big dogs would end up breaking through the chain. The chain linked fence appeared to be worn out and dilapidated in many different areas, and sure enough, when we got into the current home for a few days, the dogs dug a giant hole under the chain linked fence. They were gone for 2 hours and my husband plus I were distraught plus upset. The next day, I called a professional fencing corporation to come give us an estimate for a brand new wood fence. The corporation was one of the cheapest in the area plus they had a lot of wonderful reviews on yelp, yahoo, and google. The corporation came up with a wonderful idea to keep the dogs from digging under the current fence. They put a piece of wire in the ground plus covered it with dirt. If the dogs begin to dig up the ground, they will find a piece of metal fence. Hopefully that will stop them enough to keep them inside of the yard. It was expensive to update all of the chain linked fence and put up wooden posts, however my husband plus I don’t have to worry about the safety of our dogs. It’s also nice to have the extra security, and none of our neighbors can see into the backyard any longer.
