Out of all the things in the world, I least expected an air conditioner to be the thing that saved my life. I had always been a generally healthy guy. A few slight colds here and there, but other than that, I am always the healthy one. Last year, I was at the office when I began to feel a little off. The feeling continued throughout the day plus I considered telling my boss I needed to go home. But, ultimately I decided against it. I was writing a very big report that I wanted to get done. In the middle of it, I abruptly lost my memory. The next thing I remember is waking up on the floor next to the company Air Conditioning machine. I was terribly confused, but the unit had ended up saving my life! I had somehow gotten a very aggressive illness that raised my temperature to dangerous highs in an entirely little amount of time. A coworker had seen my head down and thought I was sleeping. However, when my coworker tried to wake me up, I would not open my eyes. Apparently I was entirely warm to the touch and they could all see that it was an extreme situation. They called an ambulance, which evidently was a whole hour away. Not knowing how much time I had before the fever completely took over, they had covered me in ice cubes plus positioned me right by the air conditioner. The ice cubes melted fast, so the air conditioner was their last thing to keep me cold until help came.
