I suppose I’m still a bit shaken by what happened last Summer.
But truth be told, I have nobody but myself to blame for what I ended up dealing with.
On the grand scale of things, going five weeks with no air conditioning while in the peak heat of Summer isn’t the worst, but it’s sure no spa day either. It all started almost a year ago. Springtime comes early to this region and my buddy and I don’t mess around when it comes to the Heating and Air Conditioning maintenance. Getting the air conditioning tuneup done and done early is constantly a rite of Springtime. During the first bit of Springtime my buddy and I do three things every year; We call for the Heating and Air Conditioning maintenance, and then we take a long weekend to deep clean the apartment with all the windows open. Finally, my buddy and I call the Heating and Air Conditioning corporation back out to do the HVAC duct cleaning. That HVAC duct cleaning is constantly the capper when it comes to Springtime cleaning. But last Springtime, the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier suggested that my buddy and I should replace the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment prior to the heat of Summer settling in. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as prepared as I should have been when it came to the finances for new residential Heating and Air Conditioning, so I needed to buy some time. So against my better judgment, I convinced myself and my partner that we could get the ancient heat pump through one more Summer. And that’s how I ended up inside my apartment separate from air conditioning for five weeks beginning almost the first day of July! You can’t pick a worse time to be without the cooling comfort from the heat pump. My partner stayed at her folks and appreciated their air conditioning while I stayed at home. It was a fitting punishment and one I won’t forget.
