Renovating my home

This winter, I am working on home renovations, and I am very excited to get started.

I have grand plans to totally revamp the space.

I want to paint all of our cupboards in addition to adding a bunch of new features. I am set on granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and brand new hardwood floors. I have spent weeks finalizing the layout of all the upgrades. I had a vision in mind for everything, well, almost. I was hung up on what method of heating would be best for the room. Our kitchen tends to get pretty cold because it is located furthest from our heating vents. Due to this, there is always a draft or a patch of cool air within the room. I worry about our pipes getting too cold all the time. It would be smart to add a heating program in the space. I started looking at ventless gas furnaces, even though I wasn’t satisfied that they take up space on the floor level. That means that I would lose lower cabinet storage for it. I looked at a ductless mini split, however that mounts on the wall, so it would be in the way of an upper cabinet. I started looking for smaller, more discreet heating options. That is how I found heated flooring, which does not take up space as it is located beneath the floorboards. Since the heat comes from electric heated mats, no air is rising to the ceiling, there are no cold spots or operational noises, but you just feel gentle, electric heat under your feet. Given that we were only adding the radiant heating to our kitchen floors, it is not overly expensive to do so. I believe I can afford to hire a professional Heating in addition to A/C business to do it.
