So, apparently it’s not enough that we all have to deal with an invisible killer on the loose in Covid 19. We also have to deal with staggering economic hardship as well. That just seems like piling on to me. I know that the economics of this pandemic have hit my house hard and quick. Just a month ago, we were both headed off to work. Now, we are both stuck inside the HVAC maintained house that is our home. My wife’s job is over for the foreseeable future. Mine has been greatly reduced as I can only do so much from home. What hasn’t changed is the fact that we still have to pay for stuff. There are groceries to buy and bills to pay. To that end, we have greatly reigned in the household budget. We are paying for only the things that are completely essential. However, there is a big bill hanging over our head. In February, we had the HVAC serviced as it gets quite warm here much earlier than most of the rest of the country. The HVAC tech told us that we would need a bit of an overhaul on the air handler prior to the summer getting here. This would not be a cheap HVAC repair. Given our current circumstances, I actually considered calling a friend of a friend who has done some HVAC work. However, after talking with my wife and giving it some more thought, it was obviously a bad idea. Instead, I will continue to allow only qualified professionals to do my HVAC repairs.
