The bar was old, but at least the beer was ice cold

A few months ago, my girlfriend and I decided to go on a road trip. We didn’t use a map or the GPS. We made a left here and a right there and we didn’t care about our final destination. We ended up in the middle of a town nestled by a large lake. My girlfriend and I were 90 miles away from home, but we were in a place that we never visited in the past. We found a nice hotel with vacancy and checked into a room for the night. The carpet had some stains, but the sheets were clean, fresh, and pressed. We had cable TV and Wi-Fi, and the air conditioner was ice cold. My girlfriend and I decided to walk across the street to visit a small dive bar. We didn’t know what to expect when we walked through the doors. The parking lot was filled with motorcycles, golf carts, and a broken down chevy. The place smelled like popcorn, peanuts, and stale beer. The bar was clearly old and it needed some repairs. There was a bucket in the middle of the room where the roof was leaking. The place didn’t have any air conditioning. They had several ventilation fans in the ceiling and they had their front and back door open. Air conditioners would have helped the indoor atmosphere and smell. The bar was old, but at least the beer was ice cold. They had six different kinds of beer on tap and everything was $3 a pint. My girlfriend and I drank a six pack before we headed back to the hotel.
