My hubby plus I have lived in the same small town all our lives.
We went to the same middle and high school, even though we were a few grades different.
I played basketball and my hubby played football. We even grew up a few streets away from each other. We met when school was finished plus we wed plus had a few children. One of our oldest children is playing basketball for the varsity team this year! She’s a starting freshman plus she has a wonderful jump shot. She is going to outscore a lot of kids older than her this year. My hubby plus I went to her first game a few weeks ago, and she scored 32 points in the first half alone. We couldn’t believe the range plus accuracy our daughter had. I never had that skill or determination. The gymnasium smells the same, because I remember that awful smell distinctly. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C program for the gymnasium barely ever worked. There were some afternoons when we didn’t have any AC or heat. The people I was with and I still had class, even if everyone had to wear a hat and coat. I remember the times when all of us had basketball practice even though the gym was unbearably hot. The smell of aged sweat socks, gym cubbies, plus mildew filled the gym back then plus the smell is the exact same. I can’t wait until our last child graduates, so we can move away from this old town.
