The zoo’s gas furnace was broken

The last time I took the kids to the zoo, the gas furnace was broken.

Before both of us even left current home that day, I told the kids that the temperature outside was genuinely way too freezing for us to enjoy a day at the zoo.

But, as kids do, they begged and whined until I finally told them that I would take them. The closer both of us got to the zoo, the colder the temperature outside dropped and that’s when I remembered that the zoo is both north of us and near a big lake. I just knew that both of us were going to be freezing as both of us walked around all day, but I comforted myself with the fact that the indoor exhibit buildings have entirely good gas heating systems inside of them. If nothing else, I figured that both of us would be okay if both of us went inside of the rainforest building. The heating systems are typically going full blast in there and usually it’s so overheated in there that both of us can’t rest it. Well, once both of us got to the zoo and got parked, both of us went inside the gates and that’s when both of us found out that the gas furnace at the zoo was completely out of commission that day. The two of us saw a dozen commercial Heating and Air Conditioning servicemans running around this way and that with all kinds of Heating and Air Conditioning tools and equipment! Everyone was in a panic because none of the gas heating systems were working and they were afraid for the welfare of the critters that need to be kept at higher temperatures. I was surprised that they were even letting visitors into the zoo at that point.
