I am a southerner.
I live in the Southeastern portion of the country.
That means I am constantly involved in a love-hate relationship with my cooling system. I easily like my a/c, plus I hope I never have to live without it. This is tplot for the A/C in my condo plus the A/C in my car plus in my office at my workplace, however even though in my office multiple of us still believe the need to run the portable gas furnace because the thermostat on the air conditioner is set to low, I still would never want to do without it. That being said, I also get quite aggravated with my Heating plus Air Conditioning system because it is expensive to operate. It is constantly a fine method to get the best Heating plus Air Conditioning system you can afford so that you do not have to pay as much to operate it, even though I have had the same a/c for a number of years, plus back then it was the best A/C I could afford. That means I like to have different ways to use less energy when it comes to my heating plus cooling. One thing I have done is I have purchased curtains that are room darkening drapes. They are entirely fine at blocking out the Sun, plus now that the people I was with and I are approaching warmer weather, I will be sure to help out my a/c by keeping those draperies closed. Another thing I have done to help my cooling system is that I have planted shade trees; When I have shade trees, it naturally stays cooler in the condo so the a/c does not have to toil as hard.
