After my boyfriend got let go from his job a few months ago, I could tell that he was left feeling extremely upset & concerned about what our future would hold.
For weeks, he spent all of his time scrolling through job postings and submitting applications.
He only got a handful of interviews. Each time, he would go through the interview process just to face a rejection message, leaving him more discouraged and upset. However, life works in mysterious ways. I had called up our heating and cooling company to ask them to send an HVAC technician to take a peek at a problem we’d been having with our cooling unit. My boyfriend was home looking for jobs, yet again, when he struck up a conversation with the HVAC technician. My boyfriend told the technician about his current employment situation, and joked that she should let him know if the HVAC company is ever hiring. Surprisingly she went on to say that they had been looking for an entry-level Heating & Air Conditioning tech for a few days now & if he was actually interested then she would put in a good word for him. My boyfriend had nothing to lose, so he ended up agreeing to this. Within a few days, he ended up getting a call from the same Heating & Air Conditioning corporation. That call came three weeks ago, and my boyfriend has now been working for this Heating & Air Conditioning corporation. Even though he has only worked in HVAC for a short amount of time, he’s already invested in the work. He tells me that he likes that he is no longer strapped to an office cubicle all afternoon. He likes that he is able to help out so many people across the town with his Heating & Air Conditioning knowledge. He still has a long way to go & even more to learn about the Heating & Air Conditioning World, and he is excited about it. I am so glad I made that HVAC appointment and that my boyfriend has found something that makes him happy.
