Air quality in the deep south

The pollen has been a bigger problem this year than ever before, and how has it been for you? I had heard pollen levels got high in the south before I moved down here ,but I still was not prepared for the enormity of the allergens! Even if there wasn’t a pandemic going on, I would still be wearing a mask anytime I went outside.

Not for COVID, just to keep some of that pollen out of our lungs.

I have consistently been a bit delicate, so I appreciate the high humidity levels of the south, however our air quality needs a tune-up for our overall health. For Winter and Springtime things tend to be OK, however in the dead heat of Summer I basically live inside the comfort of an Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C bubble for weeks on end. As much as the humidity helps our lungs, the pollen and allergens just knock myself and others out if I don’t have a HEPA rated air filter to protect me. The fall is a mixed bag, I tend to spend more time outside when possible however still keep our house air filters running 24/7 to give myself and others some wash air when I get to the house, however just to be on the safe side, I have more than one Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C plan inspections a year, because I can’t afford for the plan to ever fail on me. If I had to spend a few afternoons of the Summer with no weather conditions control at all, it could possibly send myself and others to the hospital, so this is no joke for me.
