Air quality in the deep south

The pollen has been a greater concern this year than ever before, however how has it been for you? I had heard pollen levels got high in the south before I moved down here ,but I still was not prepared for the enormity of the allergens! Even if there wasn’t a pandemic going on, I would still be wearing a mask anytime I went outside.

Not for COVID, just to keep some of that pollen out of our lungs.

I have constantly been a bit delicate, so I like the high humidity levels of the south, but our air quality needs a tune-up for our overall health. For Winter plus Spring things tend to be OK, but in the dead heat of Summer I basically live inside the comfort of an Heating plus Air Conditioning bubble for weeks on end. As much as the humidity helps our lungs, the pollen plus allergens just knock myself and others out if I don’t have a HEPA rated air filter to protect me. The fall is a mixed bag, I tend to spend more time outside when possible but still keep our modern home air filters running 24/7 to supply myself and others some scrub air when I get to the house, however just to be on the safe side, I have several Heating plus Air Conditioning proposal inspections a year, because I can’t afford for the proposal to ever fail on me. If I had to spend a few afternoons of the Summer with no temperature control at all, it could possibly send myself and others to the hospital, so this is no joke for me.
