I love my radiant heated flooring so much.
I can’t believe that I had never heard of radiant heated flooring before now. When I first decided to buy this house, I couldn’t find the furnace anywhere. I found the thermostat on the wall, but as I was inspecting the house, I could not find the furnace. I knew that knowing where the furnace was was important in case something stopped working. I would have to be able to tell the HVAC technician where the furnace was so that he could fix it. However, the realtor that was helping show me the house explained that the house didn’t have a furnace. Instead, the house had radiant heated flooring. This means that there was a heating system literally installed on the floor. There was a box that I thought was a hot water heater that actually heated water for the heating system. This hot water would run through pipes installed underneath the floorboards, and this heat would radiate through the house. That is why it is called radiant heated flooring. Although I had never heard of this type of heating system before, it was apparently very popular. Since there were no vents anywhere for a furnace, I could arrange my furniture any way that I wanted. Furthermore, the heat from radiant heated flooring was much more even than any other type of heating system on the market. I bought the house, and I love my heating system. I can’t imagine ever going back to a normal furnace ever again. If you are looking to buy or build a house, please consider radiant heated flooring radiant heated flooring.
