It was really hard for me to get hired

When I first chose to go into the HVAC career, part of that was because I knew the HVAC trade was always high in demand.

Everyone is always going to rely on their cooling and heating devices, and every summer and winter, the need for HVAC technicians spike.

So I knew I was getting into a safe career field. Graduating as a certified HVAC technician was pretty easy, and soon after I started looking for jobs from the local HVAC businesses. I applied to many, yet I heard back from few. I was puzzled, why wasn’t I hearing back from any of the A/C companies? I looked at my resume over and over, making sure I didn’t miss anything, but everything looked perfect. I was really confused. It took me several months, but finally I was accepted into a HVAC corporation that was a bit of a drive away. I ended up finding out that some air conditioning companies are hesitant to take new HVAC workers in, because of inexperience. This was slightly annoying, because the only way to get experience is to be hired. Regardless, I had a job now, so it didn’t matter that much anymore. I had another heating and A/C technician mentor me, and I ended up shadowing them on many of the trips to repair HVAC devices. It wasn’t long before I was traveling on my own and repairing HVAC systems on my own. If I ever become an A/C corporation owner, I might try to hire more HVAC college graduates, so they won’t be rejected like I was.
