All I had to do was call the HVAC company

It was pretty easy really. I walked in the house as well as saw my breath in front of my face. That was my first clue that the gas furnace was not running. And it was the only clue I needed to confirm that my friend and I needed some heating in the house. This was a few months ago as my friend and I were heading into the teeth of winter time weather. It was freezing, and only going to get colder. As I was scrambling to figure out what was going on with the heating, I realized another HVAC related fact. That heating service that I was supposed to schedule with the heating and cooling professionals didn’t happen. Letting such an important HVAC responsibility fall through the cracks was now going to bite me in my butt. Now, I’ve got a bit of self-loathing going, as I get to the furnace as well as try to get it to reset or restart or something. I’m totally grasping at straws at this point. Still, I’m pretty fervent in my efforts to get the heating back on. That’s when I spy a fuse or switch thing that appears to be damaged. The fact I couldn’t identify the part should have been another clue that I had no company trying to repair the gas furnace. I started to try to get the part out of the HVAC equipment. Thankfully, my wife got home. She snapped me back into the reality where I’m not an HVAC professional. I stopped what I was doing as well as called the company. The HVAC serviceman came out and made short work of the problem. It wasn’t the fuse or switch thing, either.
