I’m so ready to save even more money on air conditioners this year. For the past couple of years, I’ve been concentrating on making some significant savings when it comes to the utility costs related to air conditioning. And in a peculiar way, I’ve found that I’m sort of into it. It’s not like I’ve made a hobby out of saving on cooling costs. But at the same time, I’m enjoying finding new methods as well as tools as well as measures to save on air conditioner. When I first moved here, that wasn’t the case at all. Since I was no longer worrying about large heating bills, I went all in on my purchase. I confess that I focused on cooling because I was a bit shocked by the level of heat here. But after a year or two, I was rethinking that strategy. I was spending way, way too much on cooling the house. On top of that, I was cooling a house that was often empty during the peak heating hours of the day. I started my air conditioner savings quest by adding a smart control unit. That chopped a chunk off the utility bill right away. And since then, I’ve added different components over the ensuing years. I updated all the weather stripping one year to get the house as narrow as possible. This year, I’m adding some solar shades that sync with the smart control unit. I don’t have to worry about mitigating the direct sun heating in my house any more. The HVAC technology does it for me. I’m even thinking about hanging the laundry out to dry this summer. But I’m not sure I’m ready for that kind of commitment.
