Sometimes it’s really shocking to see how other people live.
You assume that everybody has a similar lifestyle when they go home at the end of the day.
However, as you get to know people it can become obvious that they actually are operating on a completely different plane of reality than you are. This is true when you find out that you have extremely wealthy co-workers. When you realize that your friends’ families are below the poverty line. And even when you get a solid look at your best friend’s modern heating, cooling, and air quality control system. Or, should I say their utter lack of modern heating, cooling, and air quality control system. I have never realized that my best friend lived in such an outdated home with antique indoor appliances. In fact, it wasn’t until he mentioned his low quality indoor air that I realized how uncomfortable his air temperature always was. There were a lot of fluctuating hot and cold patches throughout his house whenever I went to visit and it sounded like the furnace and ever took a break during its winter operations. I realized that he probably had a fairly old heating, cooling, and ventilation system. However, when I got a look at his thermostat I was actually shocked. My friend still had the old plastic dial variety of air temperature control device. There’s no way that thing could manage the indoor air temperature accurately – now all the temperature fluctuations made sense. No wonder he could never pay me back for anything, this guy must have been paying a fortune and energy bills.
