First, they cleaned the equipment, and then they cleaned the air vents.

We wouldn’t have had heat since we didn’t have airflow

I called the HVAC last week, hoping to get my HVAC system ready for winter. It seems like winter is coming whether we are ready for it, or not. It is only mid-September, and we already have frost on the ground. The HVAC technician hadn’t yet arrived, but I was thinking about turning on my furnace. It was only forty-five degrees in the house, and I had chills running up and down my spine. When I got the phone call from the HVAC technician telling me he was on his way, I almost jumped up and down with joy. I knew he would have the furnace cleaned and he would even have it running when he left. I didn’t expect it to take so long just to clean the furnace and change the air filters. He told me he suspected there could be something wrong in the air vents since there was very little dust in the air filter. He checked the air vents, cleaned them well, and said they looked fine. He then checked the ductwork. He smiled after sticking the mirror inside and looking deep. During the summer, something had gotten inside the ductwork. They had built a nest that had the ductwork nearly clogged. He told me that had he started the furnace, it could have done damage to the furnace. We wouldn’t have had heat since we didn’t have airflow. Now I have to wait for the ductwork to be cleaned before I can have the furnace turned on. I think I’ll be going to my sister’s house until they complete the job..
