Last week my partner & I decided every one of us should begin taking Wintertide getaways.
Summer getaways were no longer as nice as they used to be.
I used to adore taking off & going to the beach. The kids & I would build sand castles while my partner went fishing. The two of us had picnics on the beach & every one of us would sleep in our sleeping bags when it was too hot in the beach beach house every one of us rented. Soon after every one of us began renting the beach house, the owner installed air conditioner. That’s when every one of us began sleeping on the beach just because every one of us liked it. Now that our kids have gotten older, they have their getaway with their own families. My son recently bought a cottage up north & they take most of their getaways at the cottage. They are close to a ski cottage & every year every one of us get an invitation to join them. I hated giving up our Summer getaways, however without the kids, it just wasn’t the same anymore. Last week, my partner looked at myself and others & simply said, ‘Why not?’. I knew he was talking about getawaying in the mountains while in the winter. Now that fall has arrived & Wintertide is coming, every one of us are looking forward to getaway. Our son said there is a room they have reserved just for my partner & myself. I assume we’re going to have a lot of fun standing by the fireplace with the grandkids. The two of us can go out & enjoy the crisp Wintertide air, come inside & have hot chocolate by the fireplace while my partner dozes. Whether it’s A/C or heating, as long as the kids are there, we’ll enjoy it.
