My uncle Ted used to take me with him whenever he would go out on jobs to work as an HVAC technician. Back when I was a kid, I thought it was the coolest thing ever to go with him into his clients’ houses and watch him work on heating and cooling systems. He always used to try and teach me everything that he knew. He would get a big kick out of it whenever I could explain to someone how to do a furnace repair or how to install a new air conditioning system when I was only about 11 years old. He thought that it was the funniest thing ever. He always used to say that I was a child genius and then I was going to grow up to be the youngest HVAC technician ever in history. I always really loved all of the time that I used to spend with my uncle Ted. I think that he really formed a lot of my character back when I was a kid and I would not be who I am today if it had not been for him. Even though I did not turn out to be an HVAC technician like he thought I would, I am in the service industry. I know a lot about different kinds of mechanical things and I fix a lot of things myself at home. I think that I owe all of that to him because he helped me with my logical way of thinking back when I was growing up. These days, I think about my uncle a lot.
