For a long time, whenever I heard someone talk about some kind of expensive brand, and go on and on about how great it is, and how much better it is than the regular product most people buy, I couldn’t help but to just roll my eyes.
In my opinion, those people were almost always subtly bragging about how they can afford expensive things that the average person could not, and I didn’t want to hear any of that.
However, there is a bit of truth to it. One example is with the heating and air conditioning system. Not so much the HVAC device itself, but the air filters that go inside the HVAC unit. I have heard of HEPA air filters before, but they are expensive, so I never paid them too much attention. However, even if I wasn’t trying to pay attention to them, I heard many strangers and my friends alike talk about HEPA air filters and the difference they made, which I mostly ignored. It wasn’t until the local HVAC store was out of my usual air filters that I decided to go with the supposedly wonderful HEPA filters. I bought only a couple of them and put them in my HVAC unit. At first, nothing felt any different, which confirmed what I had originally suspected, that they are nothing special. It wasn’t until a day later that I noticed the air quality in my house had improved, and I didn’t even realize my air quality wasn’t the best to begin with. Now that I’ve had HEPA filters, I have changed my mind, and will probably stick with using them.
